Type C Armchair by Jindřich Halabala

An authentic armchair made circa the 1930s has undergone a thorough restoration. The bent beech wooden armrests are original, stained with an original water-based dye from the 1950s in a mahogany shade, then finished with a traditional shellac polish in a ruby tone that gives the wood depth and a velvety sheen. The original springs have been re-tied. The upholstery build follows traditional methods—using African grass and a blend of coconut fibers for firmness and breathability. The final layer is a fabric from the English manufacturer ROMO, from the Habanera collection, whose bold geometric pattern lends the armchair a contemporary visual rhythm.
